The 2025 International Finals Rodeo will return to the Lazy E Arena in Guthrie, Oklahoma, from January 16-19, 2025. The event will feature 15 of the top calf ropers in the International Professional Rodeo Association competing for a share of the $500,000 payout.
With 20 IPRA World Titles to his name, the 2019 Cinch Timed Event Champion, Justin Thigpen, is expected to be ready for round one at the Lazy E. Joining him are 2019 IPRA World Champion Jarod Nooren and 2018 IFR Average Champion Drew Carnes, who will also compete at IFR55. In addition, IPRA Rookie of the Year, Jarvis Demery heads to his first IFR thanks to a major win at WCRA’s Rodeo Corpus Christi.
Below is the full list of calf ropers set to compete at the International Finals Rodeo, January 16-19, 2025, at the Lazy E Arena in Guthrie, Oklahoma.
2025 International Finals Rodeo Calf Roping Contestants

1. Andrew Burks

Glenn Jackson
Glenn Jackson, born on March 19, 1981, in Houston, Texas, is excited to compete in calf roping at IFR55 with his main mount, “RW.”

3. Cynch Whitesell
Cynch Whitesell, born on July 27, 2005, is from Marietta, South Carolina. An IPRA member since 2023, Cynch enjoys hunting and snowboarding when he’s not honing his skills in the calf roping arena.

4. Scott McMahon
Scott McMahon, born on January 1, 1996, in Maxwell, Ontario, has been an IPRA member since 2014. He holds the prestigious title of Canadian IPRA Tie-Down Roping Champion. Outside the arena, Scott works as a mechanic and enjoys fixing trucks in his spare time.

5. Jarod Nooren
Jarod Nooren, born on May 21, 1990, in Mossley, Ontario, is a professional tie-down roper and farrier. Standing 6 feet tall and weighing 190 pounds, Jarod is married to Jessie Nooren, and together they have two sons, Bryce and Shane. He graduated from St. Joseph Catholic Secondary School and Western Oklahoma State College, earning an Associate Degree in Liberal Arts.
A highlight of Jarod’s rodeo career is his 2019 IPRA World Championship title. Despite undergoing shoulder surgery for a torn labrum, he continues to compete with passion and determination. Outside the arena, Jarod enjoys fishing, training horses, and traveling with his family. His trusted equine partners—Batman, Rex, and Tommy—are each valued for their unique strengths and abilities.

6. JC King
JC King, born on August 27, 1990, in Stilwell, Oklahoma, is married to his wife, Taryn, and is the father of their son, Brantlee. An IPRA member since 2008, JC has qualified for the IFR seven times and earned Horse of the Year honors in 2014.
He currently works at the Coffeyville Stockyards and credits his main mount, “Peewee,” for his success this season.

7. Justin Thigpen
Justin Thigpen, from Waycross, Georgia, returns to the Lazy E Arena for his remarkable 24th IFR qualification. With 20 world titles already to his name, this all-around competitor aims to add another to his impressive resume.
Justin is married to his wife, Laura, and is the proud father of two sons, Slade (11) and Trent (9). Outside the arena, he enjoys spending time with his family and assisting in the production of rodeos.

8. Jarvis Demery
Jarvis Demery, born on March 29, 2001, in Beggs, Oklahoma, is an IPRA rookie who has already made a name for himself. After a major win at WCRA’s Rodeo Corpus Christi, Jarvis secured the IPRA Rookie of the Year title and is the only rookie to qualify for IFR55.
A graduate of Southwestern Oklahoma State University, Jarvis now works as a welder.

9. Zeb Chapman
Zeb Chapman, from LaFayette, Georgia, will compete at IFR55 alongside his wife, Cassie. A nine-time IFR qualifier, Zeb competes in both tie-down roping and team roping. He has also earned the prestigious IPRA Tie-Down Roping Horse of the Year award four times.

10. Mathieu Gagnon
Mathieu Gagnon, from Saint-Sylvère, Quebec, is a multiple-time FR and Canadian IFR qualifier. A dedicated horse trainer, he credits his main mount, “Don,” for his success this season.

11. Tylen Layton
Tylen Layton, born on December 8, 1993, in Copan, Oklahoma, is married to Ryley, an IPRA breakaway roper, and they have a son, Lawson (3). After earning a degree in agricultural business from Missouri State, Tylen now works as a rancher and salebarn owner.
He enjoys following Oklahoma State University and Kansas City Chiefs football, as well as traveling and rodeoing with his family.

12. Chism Goodrich
Chism Goodrich, born on January 10, 2007, in Humboldt, Tennessee, is a tie-down roper and a college student pursuing a business management degree at Union University. He has been competing in IPRA rodeos since 2022.
Rodeo runs in his family—his mother, Julie Goodrich, is a 5-time IFR qualifier, and his father, Cliff Goodrich, has 19 IFR qualifications. Chism competes on “Perky,” his 16-year-old buckskin mare known for her energetic, ready-to-go attitude. Outside of the arena, he enjoys hunting and playing pickleball.

13. Drew Carnes
Drew Carnes, from Hornell, New York, has been an IPRA member since 2010 and competes in both team roping heeling and tie-down roping. A six-time IFR qualifier, he won the average at IFR48.

14. William Whayne
William Whayne, born on July 28, 1992, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, is married to his wife, Cami, and is the father of Shaydence. A graduate of Northwestern Oklahoma State University, William has been an IPRA member since 2019. His favorite rodeo is the Festival Western de Saint-Tite.
