Dylan Hancock turned in the fastest calf roping run of the 2025 Pendleton Round-Up to clinch a bucket-list win.
Hancock didn’t just leave Pendleton with the calf roping win, he also secured the all-around title after placing in the team roping average. He and partner Cole Clemons split third in the final round and finished fifth in the average, adding $6,215 to Hancock’s $12,938 calf roping check for $19,153 in total Pendleton earnings. The Pendleton boost jumped Hancock from No. 8 in the PRCA calf roping world standings to No. 4 with $147,921 on the year.
“It feels pretty awesome,” Hancock said. “Winning dang sure doesn’t hurt this late in the season. It’s pretty cool to only have three rodeos left and be in the top five of the standings. I can finish the year up strong.”
Hancock’s Pendleton Payday
The San Angelo, Texas, cowboy kicked things off with an 11.2 in round one before splitting fifth in round two with Roping.com coach Blane Cox. His 10.6-second run was good for $2,474. Hancock sealed the deal in the finals with an 8.6—the fastest calf roping run of the week—to earn $1,479 and lock down $8,985 in the average.

“My first calf wasn’t strong, just a little bigger and I didn’t flank him very good,” Hancock said. “My second calf was kind of running and we slid and slipped but I flanked him and we placed in the round. My third one was one of the better calves, if not the best. He just kind of trickled down the hill and was dang sure good.”
The Green Mile Mount
Hancock credited his horsepower, Kincade Henry’s gelding CD Adrenaline Rush, “CD,” who also carried Quade Hiatt and Shane Hanchey to checks.
“CD, he was just perfect over there,” Hancock said. “He worked awesome and scored so good. You can throttle or if you need to blast across, he’ll go. I don’t know what it is about him, but he knows how to stay on his feet at Pendleton. He gives you a good go and pulls every time, he’s just perfect there.”

The choice to ride CD was an easy one for Hancock.
“He worked awesome last year with Kincade and he owed me a mount, so I figured I would take advantage of it,” Hancock laughed.
All-Around Hand
Hancock has proven to be an all-around hand—finishing second at the 2025 Cinch Timed Event Championship inside the Lazy E Arena—but he showed the world yet again in Pendleton, making the final round in both calf roping and team roping.
“It was really cool,” Hancock said. “Cole and I were 15.6 on two and that usually wouldn’t make it back. I didn’t expect to make it back, but they said the steers were pretty strong this year. After the last couple of rounds, I thought, ‘dang, we might have a chance to get another one.’ It worked out for us to be 11th callback and then some guys had trouble in the short round. We made a good run and ended up fifth.”
The combination of wins cemented Pendleton as one of Hancock’s career highlights.
“It was one of those weeks that you dream of,” Hancock said. “It’s cool to get that done at Pendleton of all places. Pendleton, it’s one of my top five rodeos to win.”
Calf Roping ➡️ Cow Milking
The win comes in the middle of a lighthearted stretch for Hancock and Clemons, who have been keeping things fun inside and outside the arena. The pair even entered the wild cow milking together at Ellensburg, adding another story to their string of rodeo antics.
“I think we’re just fun havers,” Hancock laughed. “We like to have fun but we also take care of business. If you’re not having fun, there’s no reason to be doing it, so we try to keep that attitude and have a good time.”
@calfropingdotcom Low quality video, high quality entertainment. 🤣 We’re not sure what kind of wild is happening up in the Columbia River circuit at Ellensburg, but it looks like @ColeClemons2020 is putting @Dylan Hancock through some… unconventional prep for the @CINCH Timed Event. 💀 Count on Dechra to keep the behind-the-scenes gold rolling all year long.
