The Big Ones are Back: Pen 2 Returns for Round 5

The big pen of tie-down calves make their second appearance inside the Thomas & Mack for Round 5 of the 2023 NFR.

Though size is on their side, Shane Hanchey trusts there will still be plenty of opportunities for fast times in the round.

Caleb Smidt23Westyn Hughes initially drew this calf in Round 2, but it was loaded out of order and let out. Its notes pre-round 2 say he “pushed.”
Westyn Hughes428Kincade Henry ran calf 42 in Round 2. This calf looked on the slower end and didn’t appear to start very strong. Once on the ground, the calf looked stiff legged and pushed.
Ty Harris439.8Riley Webb had calf 43 in Round 2. Looked like he ran medium. Webb appeared to have some trouble with his flank.
Haven Meged268.6Blane Cox ran this calf in the second round. Calf 26 took a step to the right and ran medium. The calf was good good on the ground, Cox just fumbled his tie.
Shad Mayfield539.3Brushton Minton ran calf 53 in Round 2. This calf ran medium+. On the ground, he looked lighter and just ok.
Riley Webb147.3This is the calf Caleb Smidt won the second round on. This calf ran medium or a tick faster. Pockets helped this calf.
Shane Hanchey378.7Westyn Hughes ran calf 37 in Round 2. He ran medium and was good on the ground.
Tuf Cooper48.9Shane Hanchey had this calf in the second round. This calf looked medium in his run. A heavy calf but overall good.
Hunter Herrin39Shad Mayfield ran calf 3 in the second round. This calf ran medium or a hair faster. He appeared to strain and push.
John Douch58NTHunter Herrin ran this calf and unfortunately missed both loops. He appears to run medium.
Brushton Minton6711.4Beau Cooper had calf 67 in the second round. He ran a ticker harder than medium. He was pretty fresh on the ground; he looked a little waspy on end of rope and kicked.
Beau Cooper177.7Cory Solomon had calf 17 in Round 2. This calf was medium in the run, and appeared to be a dead flank. Overall a great calf.
Blane Cox1518.5Ty Harris had this calf in the second round. Calf 15 ran medium/medium -, and Harris had to two-loop him. Looked like he may have been waspy.
Kincade Henry609.7John Douch had this calf in Round 2. He ran medium + and took a small step to the left, but on the ground he’s good and takes the tie.
Cory Solomon27.6Tuf Cooper had this calf in the second round. This calf looked ran to the left a little and looked strong. Cooper made a great run on this calf.
