The San Angelo Stock Show & Rodeo is back in the heart of West Texas, kicking off with the timed event slack Tuesday, April 2, 2024. With a purse of $45,000 in the tie-down roping, the performances run April 5-19.

The San Angelo Rodeo prides itself on being a permit max event that welcomes both PRCA Card and Permit Holders, calling themselves the launching pad for rodeo athlete’s careers.

San Angelo Rodeo format

San Angelo is a back-to-back, two-round format (either roping twice in slack or in back-to-back performances) with the top 12 times on two head getting invited back for the clean slate finals Friday, April 19, 2024. Because half enough calves are being used, the last back-to-back group of contestants will either compete in the slack prior to the ninth performance for their first round and during the 10th performance for their second round, or during the ninth performance for their first round and during the slack prior to the 10th performance for their second round.
