The 2025 ProRodeo season is closing in fast, and the bubble battle is alive and well as of Sunday, Sept. 28, with four ropers battling for the final three spots inside the Top 15, and every dollar left on the table matters.

The last full week of the season stretched from Utah to California and Texas to South Dakota, where 12 ropers punched tickets to the Governor’s Cup in Sioux Falls. Of the bubble guys, only Shane Hanchey made it to Sioux Falls, putting extra weight on what Haven Meged, Kyle Lucas and Quade Hiatt can do at San Bernardino and Stephenville.

At Sioux Falls, the payout is hefty—$32,000 to the winner, $24,000 to second, $16,000 to third and $8,000 to fourth. Even the semifinalists who don’t advance will pocket $4,000. Meanwhile, San Bernardino is unofficially estimated to pay $3,795, according to the PRCA Rulebook and prorodeo.org.

Here’s how the what-ifs stack up:

Haven Meged:

Sitting 13th with $130,527, Meged is already placing at San Bernardino and is considered unofficially locked inside the Top 15. Meged was a no-time today in Stephenville.

Kyle Lucas:

After Hanchey’s $4,000 check in Sioux Falls, Lucas was bumped from No. 14 to No. 15 with $126,820.99. Like Meged, Lucas is currently placing at San Bernardino. He was 8.9-seconds today in Stephenville to earn $1,248.

Shane Hanchey:

Hanchey did not make the 4-man round in Sioux Falls, but he did take home $4,000, which was enough to push him into the No. 14 spot with $126,956.85 won. Hanchey is jumping on a flight from Sioux Falls to San Bernardino where he will also compete tonight.

Quade Hiatt:

With Hanchey’s $4,000 check from Sioux Falls, Hiatt was bumped to the No. 16 spot with $125,321.71. He isn’t placing anywhere, but he is up tonight in San Bernardino.
