The road to The American Rodeo Championship Weekend ends in Arlington, Texas, May 22–23, where Globe Life Field hosts the culmination of a year-long qualifier grind and the sport’s elite under one roof.
With more than $3 million in total potential payout—including a $100,000 check to each discipline winner and the life-changing $2 million Qualifier Bonus still in play—the tie-down roping field is officially set.
Fifteen calf ropers earned their way through the East, Central and West Regional Semifinals to crack the qualifier roster, and they’ll be joined by the top five tie-down ropers from the 2025 PRCA world standings. Below is the full breakdown of who’s headed to Globe Life, how the format works and how to tune in.
How does The American Rodeo work?
The American Rodeo’s qualifier system is built on the idea that anyone with a rope and the right run can put themselves on the sport’s biggest stage. Athletes work their way up through a nationwide series of sanctioned events into one of three regional finals—East, Central and West—where the field narrows to the names you’ll see in Arlington.
On Friday night, May 22, a total of 129 qualifiers across the disciplines will go head-to-head inside Globe Life Field. As the leaderboard shakes out, only the Top 5 in each event will punch tickets to Saturday.
Saturday, May 23, is when things heat up. Two rounds—the Showdown Round and the Championship Round—pit the qualifier survivors against the Top 5 from the 2025 PRCA world standings. The discipline winner walks away with $100,000, and any qualifier who runs the table cashes in on the $2 million Qualifier Bonus that has been sitting unclaimed and waiting for someone to grab it.
Which calf ropers qualified to The American Rodeo?
The calf roping qualifier field is a mix of seasoned ProRodeo athletes, hungry up-and-comers and a handful of ropers who have made The American Rodeo qualifiers their proving ground. Of the qualifiers eligible for the $2 million payday, six of them have qualified to the NFR and one is a world champion. Here’s the full list of ropers advancing to Friday’s semifinals.
