The 2025 Cheyenne Frontier Days calf roping is full of elite horsepower including John Douch’s gelding Tomcat, Shad Mayfield’s Tootsie Pop and Riley Pruitt’s Esther.
- There are only three mares on the playing field, Tyson Durfey’s “Baby Rey,” Shad Mayfield’s “Tootsie Pop” and the mare Riley Pruitt is riding “Esther,” who is owned by Miles Garwood.
- Of the horses we have pedigrees on, three of them competing in the finals go back to Dual Pep.
- 11.7 years is the average age of the calf horses (that we have registered names for), with Ty Moser’s gelding, Twitch being the oldest in the field at 17. Tripp Brown is riding the youngest horse in the field, Bar W Roaney 1909, who is 6.
