Calf ropers are headed to Sioux Falls, South Dakota, for the 2025 Governor’s Cup, where the $155,556 purse is sure to shake up the ProRodeo world standings and bubble race.
The top eight calf ropers in the PRCA’s ProRodeo Playoff Series Standings qualify to rope at Sioux Falls, joined by the top four finishers from Puyallup, Washington, Cinch Playoffs—dropping further down the tour standings when ropers qualified to Sioux Falls both via Puyallup and the tour standings.
The field in Sioux Falls this year is, as expected, made up of mostly calf ropers inside the top 10 of the world standings. Shane Hanchey, Tyler Calhoun, Marcos Costa and Cory Solomon are all fighting for a spot inside the top 15 at Sioux Falls.

Sioux Falls Calf Roping Format
The 12 qualifying calf ropers will compete across two rounds (Sept. 26-27) for a position into the final eight. The eight who advance will be based on the average. From the eight-man Semifinals on Sunday, Sept. 28, four calf ropers will return to the final shootout, clean-slate round that same performance for a chance at the Governor’s Cup’s possible season-changing payday.
