Less Than a Week Left in Playoff Series Slugfest
The PRCA Playoff Series is another layer of complexity in NFR qualification—promising opportunities at big rodeos the last few days of the ProRodeo regular season.

It’s all come down to this week and three rodeos for ProRodeo athletes vying for a position in the PRCA Playoff Series event in Puyallup, Washington.

The Playoff Series is open to the top 23 in the NFR Playoff Series standings and the NFR Open Champ (Bodie Mattson in calf roping) and has a total payoff of $73,000 in each event including $13,000 to champion.

The last three rodeos to gather points before the August 26 cut-off date are Tremonton, Utah and Kennewick and Bremerton, both in Washington.

The PRCA Playoff Series represents big payouts in the final three weeks of the regular season and last-chance opportunities for those outside the Top 15 to make a big move in the world standings.

Marcos Costa is currently hanging on to the final qualifying spot at 23rd but Tom Crouse is just 1.25 points behind him. Solomon, Trevor Hale and Jake Pratt are all within striking distance —Solomon and Pratt would need the big payoffs available in the Playoff Series to make the jump from their current positions in the world standings to have a chance to get to Vegas.
