The North Dakota Roughrider Cup is back in Mandan, promising a major payout in the final two weeks of the 2025 season.

With the largest one-head payout in North America, the North Dakota Roughrider Cup, will take place Sept. 19-21 in Mandan. With the top 32 PRCA calf ropers, plus the winners of four specific Badlands Circuit rodeos invited, Mandan is sure to shake up the world standings in the final stretch of the season. In 2024, Dylan Hancock secured his first NFR qualification at Mandan, taking home a total of $14,918, and with the same $60,000 purse, the 2025 payout is expected to be similar.

Who Is Roping in Mandan?

The top 32 calf ropers in the 2025 PRCA world standings as of 7 days prior to entries closing qualified to compete at the North Dakota Roughrider Cup. Additionally, the winners of each of the following four Badlands Circuit rodeos qualified for a total of 36 calf ropers.

  • Mandan, North Dakota (July 2-4)
  • Deadwood, South Dakota (July 23-26)
  • Rapid City, South Dakota (August 18-20).

Money won at this rodeo will not count towards Badlands Circuit standings, nor will the rodeo be applied to a contestant’s required circuit participation count.
