Riley Webb still leads the 2026 calf roping world standings by $67,275, but the chase pack behind him had one heck of a month in July.
Joel Harris banked $103,616, Haven Meged and Zack Jongbloed both cleared $88,000, and the No. 15 bubble race saw a climb from $75,258 to $89,749 in four weeks, and like every other year, the last 60 days of the regular season will be a race to the finish.
How Joel Harris Bankrolled $100K in a Month
Joel Harris entered July at No. 3 in the world with $75,543. He exits at No. 2 with $178,094. The $103,616 he banked in between is more than most of the top 15 have won all season.
The stretch that carried him furthest was the last 18 days. Between his Sheridan, Wyoming, round-one win on July 11 and the Dodge City Roundup average win on August 2, Joel Harris put together seven paydays worth $5,000 or more: the Central Wyoming Fair win in Casper, Ogden Pioneer Days round win, the Spanish Fork Fiesta Days average, the California Rodeo Salinas average tie for second, the Utah Days of ’47 finals runner-up, the Mountain Valley Stampede outright win in Heber City, and the Dodge City average. Along the way he added an Ogden average check, and cleared four figures in two separate short rounds.
The final push came at Heber City, where the San Angelo, Texas, cowboy stopped the clock at 7.2 seconds to win first place and $7,205. He rolled straight to Kansas and won the Dodge City average with 25.9 seconds across three head, good for another $6,423.
Joel Harris moved from No. 5 on July 16 to No. 3 on July 28 to No. 2 today. He now sits behind Riley Webb and ahead of Kincade Henry, having leapfrogged both Kincade and Haven Meged since the Fourth of July. His $178,094 is a career-best pace by every measure and his second consecutive NFR qualification looks locked in.
Zack Jongbloed’s Calgary Week, and Everything After
Nobody moved further in July than Zack Jongbloed. The Iowa, Louisiana, cowboy started the month sitting outside the top 20 at No. 24 with $37,121. The Calgary Stampede finals win—worth $50,000 gross, with 80% counting towards the standings—plus round money in Pool 3 dropped him inside the top 10 in a single week. He hasn’t left, adding a Castle Rock tie for second, a second in Phillipsburg, and Salinas placings on the way to his current $119,922 at No. 7. Jongbloed is now $19,876 clear of Kyan Wilhite at No. 9.
Haven Meged Won Everywhere
The 2019 world champion added $88,308 in July, moving from No. 5 to No. 4. Haven Meged’s month included a Cheyenne semifinal appearance, a Estes Park split win with John Douch (7.6 seconds each), the NFR Open finals win and a three-way tie for first in Preston, Idaho, and a win in Abilene, Kansas, during the last week of the month. Meged now sits at $155,097 with two months to gain ground on Riley Webb and make a run at his second gold buckle.
Riley Webb’s Lead Isn’t Going Anywhere
The three-time defending world champion added $76,879 in July—not the highest total on the leaderboard, but plenty. Riley Webb still leads Joel Harris by $67,275 heading into August. The Denton, Texas, cowboy’s biggest single check of the month came at St. Paul, where he split the average with Cory Solomon ($7,812 each), followed by his Oakley Independence Day Rodeo win ($7,783).
The Bubble Jump
The No. 15 spot on July 16 was Trevor Hale at $75,258. Today it’s Beau Cooper at $89,749. Tyler Calhoun ($95,317, No. 12) won the Utah Days of ’47 finals for $18,000 and moved from No. 20 to inside the top 15 in three weeks. Macon Murphy ($99,072, No. 10) placed second in the Cheyenne finals and won Cheyenne Semifinal 3 for a combined $11,000. Bryce Derrer ($96,070, No. 11) added an Ogden round win and Cheyenne Bracket 3 win. Trevor Hale ($88,765, No. 16) cashed a Utah Days go-round check and picked up his biggest check of the month in Spanish Fork. Ty Harris ($94,646, No. 13) sat this week out at $0 but his Livingston Roundup and Salinas money already banked has him $5,000 above the bubble. The nine cowboys between No. 12 and No. 20 are separated by $16,376.
Two Rookies in the NFR Hunt
Kyan Wilhite crossed six figures at No. 9 in the world ($100,047) and remains atop the Resistol Rookie standings by a $22,000 margin over Brodey Clemons. The Clovis, New Mexico, cowboy won Joseph, Oregon, the War Bonnet Round Up in Idaho Falls, and won a Salinas round in the last three weeks alone.
Brodey Clemons, at No. 22 in the world and No. 2 in the rookie race, quietly put together his own case in July. The Weatherford, Texas, cowboy added $36,699 across the month, climbing from $41,095 to $77,794. His signature stretch came at the Central Wyoming Fair & PRCA Rodeo in Casper, where he placed third in round one, third in the finals and third in the average for a combined $8,791. He followed it up with a Spanish Fork Fiesta Days round-one third place ($4,246), Salinas average money and a Idaho Falls 10th. Brodey Clemons enters August needing roughly $12,000 to catch the No. 15 spot.
Sixty Days Left, Every Dollar Counts
The 2026 PRCA regular season ends September 30, 2026, which leaves less than 60 days to earn money. The road from here runs through the big-money stop in Sioux Falls, Ellensburg, Puyallup, Pendleton, and a slate of other ProRodeo Playoff Series stops that will pay out six-figure purses through September.
August is when the bubble fight gets fun… to watch that is. Ty Harris ($94,646) at No. 13 has a $5,000 cushion over the cutline with Tom Crouse ($93,031) at No. 14 sits just below him. Beau Cooper ($89,749) holds the No. 15 spot by $984 over Trevor Hale ($88,765) at No. 16. Behind them, Bo Pickett ($81,307), Dylan Hancock ($81,193) and Cole Clemons ($80,336) are separated by less than $1,000 and sit within $9,500 of the No. 15 seat. Hunter Herrin ($78,941), Cory Solomon ($78,157) and Brodey Clemons ($77,794) are the next wave, all within $12,000 of the No. 15 spot and every one of them capable of banking that much in a single week.
