The 2024 Governor’s Cup calf roping is full of elite horsepower including 2023 Horse of the Year owned by Shane Hanchey, “Bugsy”.

  • There are only three mares on the playing field, Shad Mayfield’sLollipop”, Zack Jongbloed’sGucci” and Ty Harris’s “Sally”.
  • High Brow Cat is the grandsire of three out of the 12 horses. Kincade Henry’s gelding, “CD” is out of a Playgun mare and by High Brow CD, who is by High Brow Cat. Riley Webb’s gelding, Rudy is by the iconic Matallic Cat who is by High Brow Cat. Haven Meged’s gelding, “Lil Punch” is out of a Dual Rey mare and by Kit Kat Sugar who is by High Brow Cat.
  • 11.75 years is the average age of the calf horses (that we have registered names for), with Dylan Hancock’s gelding, Major A 2009 the oldest in the field at 15.
