The 2025 American Rodeo calf roping is full of elite horsepower including two previous AQHA Horses of the Year, 2023 Horse of the Year owned by Shane Hanchey, “Bugsy” and 2024 Horse of the Year owned by Shad Mayfield, Lollipop.
- There are only four mares on the playing field, Zack Jongbloed‘s “Kim,” Daniel Miranda’s “Princess,” Ty Harris‘ “Sally” and Shad Mayfield’s “Lollipop.”
- Four different athletes will be riding the same horse. Ty and Joel Harris will both be aboard Sally and Bobby Abernathy and Riley Webb will both be riding Rudy.
- 14.3 years is the average age of the calf horses (that we have registered names for), with Bryce Derrer‘s gelding, Miss N High Hickory being the oldest in the field at 23. Haven Meged is riding the youngest horse in the field, For Goodness Shakes, who is 9.
